What I Have Learned in 2018 That I Will Apply in 2019!

In 2018 I learned a lot about myself. These lessons have made me a better person and a better realtor! In this post, I wanted to share some of this knowledge with you in the hopes that we can all build on everything I’ve learned to make 2019 the best year yet!

I love catching up with clients – new and old.

Whether it’s over coffee or a phone call, catching up with clients is one of my favourite things to do. I am truly interested in what is going on in my clients’ lives, not only with regards to how they are enjoying their new homes, but I also love hearing about how their families are, and chatting about what’s new with work and life.

When you spend time with people helping them to achieve their real estate goals or find their dream home, you become a part of each other’s lives. Every one of my clients holds a special place in my heart and when everything is said and done, I often miss the time we spend together. A coffee, a phone call or even a lunch when time allows us to reconnect fills me with joy and reminds them that I will always be there for them, long after closing.

It is OK to take some ME time!

I will shout this one from the rooftops. The freedom of time to think and analyze can give us perspective that we don't often have when we are running from one thing to the next in our day-to-day lives.

I’ve learned that dedicating some time for introspection and reflecting also helps us to be more appreciative. Setting aside time for some rest and relaxation always makes me more grateful for all that I value - family, friends, my career, good health, my home and my life. It feels good to realize how truly fortunate we are!

In 2018 I was fortunate enough to have travelled a little and ate a lot! I came back feeling refreshed, invigorated and happy! Professionally and personally – I encourage everyone to take some time for themselves.

Staying apprised of market trends helps my clients get ahead.

The Toronto market is unique and rental prices are at an all-time high. It can all be overwhelming, especially if you’re newer to the real estate market. I do my best to stay apprised of the latest trends so that I can provide my clients and contacts with the most helpful information that will guide their decision-making. It is extremely important to me to be able to provide timely information that is specific to their market, their needs and their goals.

I promise to stay true to myself and my clients.

I pride myself on the fact that I always keep my clients well-informed. If I truly, in my heart, believe that a certain path is not the best choice for them, or that my clients are settling for less when they shouldn’t, I will always speak my mind. I am in this business to help people so my clients’ needs are my priority. I believe that my honesty and integrity are vital to serving my clients to the best of my abilities.

I will continue to put my best foot forward.

This means I show up with a genuinely positive, energetic and caring attitude. I listen closely, encourage sincere conversation, and provide honest, timely, expert advice. Many of my clients have become cherished friends – that’s how well we get along. My reputation among realtors as an upfront, honest, and collaborative partner ensures other agents are eager to work with me.

I’m a sharp negotiator, never pushy, straight forward, clear and cool. I’m proud to be designated as a Real Estate Negotiation Expert as negotiating is one of the most powerful tools I employ for my clients. Getting the best possible deal takes creative thinking, problem solving on-the-fly, and a keen sense of what’s at stake. The best deals have everyone at the table feeling like they’ve won. When I’m negotiating on behalf of my clients, I’m fiercely protective of their desires and goals.

Like many of you, I’m excited to see what this year has in store for me! To stay up-to-date with all the latest happenings in Toronto real estate, and for the expert advice you need to navigate this extraordinary market, be sure to favourite this page and check back here often.
